Thank you to the University of Florida and Ajax Construction for the invitation to celebrate with the design and construction teams on this important milestone for the University of Florida Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology (DSIT) Project.

The practice of “topping out” a building can be traced to the ancient Scandinavian religious rite of placing a tree atop a new building to symbolize good luck for future occupants, continued growth, and a safe job for the remaining phases of construction. The CHW team toured 263,000-square-foot of framework and concrete and got to see the site design form a sense of place from the 7th story, what a view. It was a good day for comradery and to see this one-of-a-kind design begin to take shape.
