Utility upgrades on South Main Street are underway! The South Main Street project was launched in 2016 and focuses on the revitalization of the corridor between Depot Avenue and South 16th Avenue. The project aims to improve the business climate, curb appeal, and safety of the corridor by increasing the number of sidewalks, enhance bicycle facilities, improve Hawthorne Rail-Trail Crossing at South Main Street, and reducing the number of safety conflicts for pedestrians and bicyclists. It will also increase on-street parking, green spaces along the corridor, and will move above-ground utilities underground to allow for more space for parking and landscaping.
