The UF Health Shands Emergency Center Kanapaha project consisted of a freestanding emergency center with associated sidewalks, parking lot, supporting utilities, and stormwater management facility located in Alachua County. CHW provided landscape architectural design and permitting services and enhanced landscape design for the 4.22 acre site. Utilizing a palette of hardy, low-maintenance plant material, the landscape complements the contemporary style of the architecture. The CHW team developed a plan to utilize landscape boulders that were excavated during construction as focal elements throughout the site.  Additionally, we worked with UF Health Shands staff to discuss lighting design goals and coordinated with the project Electrical Engineer in order to produce a low-voltage landscape lighting system which emphasizes the landscape and enhances roadside appeal. CHW provided land planning, urban design, land surveyor and mapping, civil engineering, and construction administration (CEI) services.
