UF Health, through a grant and partnership with several local and national organizations, worked with the Nature Explore organization to develop a concept plan for the addition of a children’s nature garden at the UF Health Children’s Hospital. The goal of the project was to create an interactive nature-based garden area supporting children’s interactions with the natural world and interaction between families and UF Health staff.
The outdoor space was built with separate play areas with designated purposes, such as messy materials, music & movement, plant material, and balance areas. CHW worked in conjunction with Trimark Properties and UF Health to design a dynamic, nature-based outdoor spaces that support children’s learning and social/emotional development. CHW donated land surveying and landscape architecture services for the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.
