Foley Cutoff Road is approximately 1.5 miles long and runs between Old Foley Road and US 27 in Taylor County, Florida. The roadway was reconstructed and widened to two, 12-foot lanes and by utilizing in-place reclamation to rehabilitate the existing roadway structure. Additional work included restoring roadside swales and side and cross drains. The clear zone was evaluated per the FDOT Greenbook requirements and the project required roadside revisions (ie, tree removal) or design exceptions to meet the most current clear zone requirements.
CHW provided complete turnkey services for this project: a survey of the right-of-way, design of the roadway improvements, preparation of the construction plans, permitting as needed, preparation of technical specifications, and post-design services. Our approach to gathering complete data and conduct a thorough review of existing conditions and proposed improvements led to cost-saving during construction.
