The Eastside Health Economic Development Initiative (EHEDI), spearheaded by the Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area (GCRA), is a ±13.6 acre development designed to spur economic development and provide essential resources within the presently under-served East Gainesville area. EHEDI will include a UF Health urgent care clinic and a Gainesville Regional Transit System (RTS) transfer station, infrastructure to connect the complex, a roadway connecting SE Hawthorne Road and SE 8th Ave, an extension of SE 6th Ave, and future plans for a fire station, office, grocery store, retail/medical building, and a community garden.
CHW, an NV5 company provided due diligence, intergovernmental coordination, and project advocacy for EHEDI, and is currently assisting with several individual developments encompassed by this project, detailed below.
