Congratulations to the City of Alachua and the Gainesville Sports Commission for receiving the FSF’s Mid-Market Venue of the Year Award for the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center. This recognition identifies the park’s efforts to provide the City with a welcoming, flexible area that provides a full spectrum of sports and cultural activities, open spaces, and passive recreation.

The Legacy Park Multipurpose Center was completed in Summer 2018 and is the first phase of Legacy Park’s Master Plan. Its central location in the park creates a hub for recreation, cultural, and community activities. Phase II of Legacy Park is currently underway and will expand on the park’s capabilities by adding new fields, an amphitheater, and a concessions/restroom area. CHW is proud to have provided the planning, engineering, landscape architecture, and construction services that have helped this project come to life.
