CHW’s own Tony Caggiano staying involved at the Florida Engineering Society’s (FES) Professional Engineers Legislative Days in Tallahassee, representing the FELI (Florida Engineering Leadership Institute) Class of 2022. During the two-day event, Florida engineers hear directly from legislators about issues affecting the engineering industry and can share valuable insight with officials that benefits our communities.
This year’s group of engineers also kicked off the FELI 2022 class project to build bunk beds for underprivileged children on behalf of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Class 2022 is also engaging the next generation of engineers by inviting local MATHCOUNTS chapters and mathletes to join each build. Any remaining proceeds will go to support Feeding Florida through local food bank donations.
Seventeen volunteers (members of the c/o 2022, and Tallahassee FES and ASCE chapter members) recently finished the first build to support this year’s class project and we’re happy to report 26 beds were built and successfully delivered to their seven respective homes on January 22!
FELI Class of 2022’s next build will be held in Orlando, and they need your help. Please consider donating to help children across Florida and in our communities get a bed of their own!
