We joined Professional Planners from the Florida Chapter for the 2022 Planning Conference in Orlando, Florida last week. APA Florida hosted an outstanding event that offered dynamic speakers, break-out sessions, and mobile tours to facilitate future-ready cities. Attendees were able to dig into one of five tracks covering topics the evolution of diversity, innovative strategies for equitable and inclusive planning solutions, regulatory topics, equitable and inclusive placement and redevelopment, and resilience planning for health, recovery, and the environment.

CHW Professional Planner, Ryan Thompson, AICP, joined the #FPC22 SunTrax Mobile Tour which included a brief overview of the facility, testing opportunities, and a driving tour of the track and infield areas. SunTrax is a cutting-edge facility being developed by FDOT dedicated to the research, development, and testing of emerging transportation technologies. The 2.25 multi-lane test track will make it the only high-speed autonomous vehicle (AV) testing facility in the southeastern United States.
