This past weekend, nestled in 80 acres of lush, forested land, our team had the incredible opportunity to participate in GROW HUB’s Community Gardening event. Amid the thriving nursery and gardens, our team members engaged in a fulfilling day of hands-on activities and camaraderie.
GROW HUB, a not-for-profit organization located in Gainesville was founded in 2016, employs a pioneering approach to make a significant impact on the community—Growing Real Opportunities to Work – Harvest of Urban Business—providing invaluable support to adults with disabilities. Beyond just providing training and education, GROW HUB creates meaningful employment opportunities for those who, after completing their education at the age of 22, often face limited job options.
Our day was filled with activities, offering us the chance to contribute directly to the nursery’s growth by fertilizing plants, a crucial task performed every six weeks, and repotting plants that had outgrown their homes. Our heartfelt thanks go to GROW HUB for hosting this event and allowing us to immerse ourselves in their mission—special shout out to Crystal + Kyle for sharing their infectious passion for the process and invaluable gardening tasks!
Immersed in the wide variety of plants and the jubilant ambiance that GROW HUB nurtures, we left with a heightened appreciation for the community they’ve built and we’re eager to continue supporting GROW HUB’s mission of fostering growth, inclusivity, and community spirit. We encourage you to visit GROW HUB, shop the daily plant sale, and experience the hard work and dedication of this incredible organization!
