Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, Alachua County Fire Rescue, and the planning, design, and construction teams’ broke ground on Fire Station 80, located off SW 24th Avenue in Gainesville, FL. This community-centric project is being constructed to relocate from Fire Station 80’s existing site, within the city limits, to a more western location within the County limits.
ACFR Fire Station 80 is an 11,000 sf, newly constructed site, and building, housing an Advanced Life Support Engine and will allow Alachua County Fire Rescue to fill a critical gap and work with neighboring stations to enhance the level of service with quicker response times in this growing area. The site was planned and designed to provide a buffer to neighboring communities as well as innovative egress and ingress for Fire Rescue Engines, all while creating a space that enriches the lives of citizens and Fire Rescue teams alike.
