The Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases is a 24,000-square-foot facility that incorporates indoor and outdoor rehabilitation space, a clinical trials center, and five research lab spaces. It also has 28 exam rooms and seven therapy rooms. The $9 million facility off Williston Road in Gainesville will be used for research and to treat patients with neurological diseases.
Its outdoor rehabilitation space has different textured ground surfaces, including cobblestone and gravel, allowing patients to work on stability, as well as other outdoor structures used for rehabilitative training, all in one collaborative space.
