Congratulations to BCJ, Walker Architects, CHW, AEI, WalterPMoore, Siebein, and GSE on being the selected University of Florida Data Science and Information Technology (DSIT) project design team.
Located off Museum Rd., across from the Reitz Union Parking Garage and Florida Bookstore, The DSIT Building will house faculty and researchers from the College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering who specialize in analyzing “Big” data to tackle complicated problems. The facility will also be the new home of UF Informatics Institute whose focus is on interdisciplinary data challenges in fields ranging from health care to agriculture. The preliminary program has the project an estimated size of 260,000 GSF, and total cost of design and construction at $125,000,000. This state-of-the-art multidisciplinary facility is the first of its kind (size, technology, etc.) to be designed and built on UF’s campus.
