The University of Florida’s Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology (DSIT) building, a hub for advancing computing, communication, and cyber technologies, has completed construction and is now in use at the Gainesville campus. Designed to be a multidisciplinary space for medicine, pharmacy, and engineering, the DSIT building is 263,440-square-feet large and seven stories tall. It houses a variety of research groups and engineering program departments, with areas reserved as maker spaces for digital and robotic innovation.
CHW provided site analysis, master planning, urban design, traffic studies, surveying and mapping services, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), civil engineering, landscape architecture, and construction staking. Improvements to the nearby roadway Sweetwater Drive were provided by CHW as well.
Congratulations to UF PD&C, #UFDCP, and the design and construction teams of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, AEI, Walker Architects, Ajax Building, and CHW Professional Consultants for bringing this symbol of progress from idea to reality. We look forward to witnessing how this forward-thinking facility advances technology for the benefit of humanity.
