The Gainesville community and UF Health recently held a ground breaking event celebrating the start of construction on the UF Health Urgent Care Center – Eastside. 

The $5.7 million, the 9,000-square-foot center located off SE Hawthorne Road, is an example of unity and collaboration, with The City of Gainesville and Alachua County reinvesting in East Gainesville to provide vital medical, dental, and mental health services for urgent and primary care visits. Inside, the center will house eight examination rooms, two procedure rooms, X-ray facilities, and a community room. It’s a hub for community connection set to dissolve the barriers of healthcare, employment, housing, and food scarcity in the area.  

CHW Professional Consultants is honored to have participated in such a transformative project. We collaborated with a great team of stakeholders, citizens, and design and construction teams to apply our expertise in master planning, conceptual design, facility planning, due diligence, property, and topographic surveying, permitting, engineering, and infrastructure design.  

This project, set to open in 2024, marks a pivotal step towards bridging the healthcare gap and sparking a wave of community growth in East Gainesville.
