The University of Florida Police Department (UFPD) held a GRAND OPENING celebration of a state-of-the-art public safety facility for the campus’ first responders last week. The University’s New Public Safety Building project includes a newly constructed 50,000 gsf, 3-story building and renovations of 5,500 sf to the adjacent existing Centrex Building. The combined areas house all the departments of the University of Florida Police Department (UFPD), the Department of Emergency Management, and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The goal of the new Public Safety Building is to accommodate all of UFPD’s current and future operational needs and increase public accessibility to the existing site.
Congratulations to UF PD&C, #UFDCP, and the design and construction teams of Schenkel Shultz Architecture, CHW Professional Consultants, and Ajax Building Company for being such an integral part of a thoughtful well-programmed facility brought to fruition.
