We joined Alachua Habitat for Humanity at Interfaith House #10 to work alongside the new owners on the exterior of their new home in Gainesville, Florida. CHW team members got to work measuring, cutting, and installing cement boards. We were joined by a handful of other volunteers, a few Habitat for Humanity site leads, and three future homeowners dedicating sweat equity to help the new owners.

Thank you CHW team for coming together to build homes and hope. And big thanks to our Habitat Site Leads for showing us the ropes and reminding us to stay hydrated. 😉

Did you know? Habitat homeowners must be active participants in building a better home and future for themselves and their families. Habitat homeowners must partner with Habitat throughout the process. This partnership includes performing “sweat equity,” or helping to build their own home or the homes of others in the homeownership program. Homeowners must also be able and willing to pay an affordable mortgage. Mortgage payments are cycled back into the community to help build additional Habitat houses.
