The CBC is a family-organized fundraiser consisting of running, paddling and swimming events to honor and support those affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers.
The CBC was started in 1999 in honor of Nancy Chellemi, mother of two, who died of leukemia in 1998. Each year the CBC reunites old friends and forges new friendships all while having a fun day at the beach and raising money for those less fortunate.
Money is raised through participant registration, contributions and sponsorships. All proceeds are donated to the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Check out http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org to see how the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offers patient services, disseminates information, and supports research involving blood-related cancers. More than $350,000 has been donated to the Society in the previous 19 years the CBC has been held. Click here for more information.
